As Chief Curator and Acting Director of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Art in Embassies (AIE), Virginia Shore established and led the Department’s first acquisitions and commissioning division for newly constructed U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide. A celebration of diplomacy through art, these commissions represent AIE’s mission of cultural exchange and highlight the powerful presence that art can lend to public spaces.
